The department constantly improves and updates its educational programs taking into account the requirements of employers and trends in the labor market and trains bachelors in the educational programs 6B04108«Economics and Management», 6B04109«Accounting and Finance», 6B04106 «Management/ Business Administration», 6B04107 «Management/ Hotel Management». Master's degree programs are conducted in the field of education 7M04 Business, Management and Law, in groups of educational programs: M070 Economics, B044 Management and Management, M072 Management and Management, M073 Audit and Taxation, M074 Finance, Banking and Insurance, M071 State and Local Administration, M072 Management and Management (7M04113-Business Administration (MBA)). The high professionalism of the teaching staff of the Department of Economics and Finance allows for dynamic development and training of qualified and competitive specialists who will always be in demand and will take their rightful place in modern society. To develop cooperation and improve the quality level of training of graduates of the Department of Economics and Finance, a branch of the department was opened at Vetzoocenter LLP in Semey and a Training Center at Halyk Bank Kazakhstan JSC in Semey.

One of the fundamental directions of development of the Department of Economics and Finance is the research activities of the teaching staff and students. The department has created and operates a scientific school "Modern scientific and practical problems of economics", which works in two directions: - "Research and development of a model for managing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses in the region in the context of socio-economic modernization"; - "Increasing the financial literacy of youth is the basis of the national welfare of Kazakhstan." In recent years, more than 10 articles have been published in journals included in the Scopus citation base, more than 20 scientific articles have been published in journals included in the COСSES list, 40 abstracts have been issued. To improve the level of their development, the teachers of the department annually undergo advanced training in the leading universities of the country.
